This one gets my vote. You see, the secret is in having TWO kilts - one to wear while traveling and the other to change into when you arrive. My traveling kilts are all cotton casuals. They are very comfortable for the long haul, and I do not care if the pleats get wrinkled (embrace the inevitable.)
The changing is easy, too. Undo all but the inside strap on the first kilt. Strap the second kilt on over the first one, just a little higher. Reach inside the aprons, undo the last strap on the first kilt, and use a little hip action to shake the first one loose and properly seat the second one. Easy to do AND preserves "the secret."
