Thanks all
Mrpharr, hot is one way to put it. That day was also extremely hot and sunny anyway, I ended up with quite a sunburn. So I spent two days standing next to a 3000 degree fire, in 100 degree+ heat, wearing 6 yards of wool. Toasty. But I was fine the whole time, kept myself hydrated and went into the shade when I had a chance. At another faire where I wore it while smithing, I actually unpinned it and let it hang in the back, then pulled it back up when I wasn't.
Switchblade, as often as I can, which is about every other day or so right now. I do a lot of work, now I'm trying to find places to sell it. I've got some things in at one local shop, I need to speak to the owners of a couple others. It's not enough for a living right now, but I love doing it. The forge and anvil in that picture are my travelling setup. I have a larger forge and two larger anvils at home, and another forge in need of restoration. I'm going to try to get a space at the Ishpeming Faire this summer, too.

Nick, great pics of a great kilt! And is that Iolaus on the right in that last pic? Hair is a little longer, but this was a few years ago. Sure looks like him!

Great pics! The one at the water reminds me of St. Clair, Michigan.. It's cool watching the freighters come and go..

lol, nope, not Iolaus. That's my friend Jake. He and his wife moved to California after that summer.
Cheers,
Nick

Here's another good pic of me working at the Ironwood Faire. The white rag at my belt is for rubbing down the iron after applying beeswax, which is what it looks like I'm getting ready to do here.
