Unfortunatly when you ask for volunteer staff at the events, you do not always get the best people to PROMOTE your product. That kind of attitude would turn anybody off. A better approach would be to try to show why THEIR product is better, or at least better for YOU!

Piss-poor marketing is what it is...Best way to turn someone off about your product is claim the competitor is inferior in an arrogant and over-bearing manner.

Guess these guys never had any business classes.

    Kilters

I was reading the old posts when I came across this one and it touched a bit of a nerve with me so I had to sound off.

I, like the folks here on the forum, love kilts! I love wearing them (not often enough) I like seeing them, I like talking about them with fellow kilt crazies, and I love the little biz that I have that makes kilts.

As I see it, there are many days in the week and many occasions to wear whatever kind of kilt works for you at that time. When I am working at a Games or something and I see someone wearing say a UK or a sport kilt, I dont think "Ugh!" I think "right on!" someone who values a kilt!

When in doubt, I say get them both! One for Mon one for Tues then get a nice tartan for Sunday best situations!

Who doesn't like trying and collecting things that they like? Beer, foods, classic cars, classier women (I suggest one at a time...) etc...

I suppose that this is a bit naive for the world of business, but I dont care. This is something I enjoy. And I am happy to do it.

The only part I hate is the bloody taxes and book keeping!

    Yours in pleats!

    Josh aka Sumokilt!

I saw the same sort of thing happening at the Fergus Games last year. It seem oddly a trend in there booth at some of the games. I know the owner would not appreciate hearing these sorts of things are happening but it is happening. I would not say it is a reflection on the owners themselves but in the end it is. The people you have selling your product are a direct reflection of what the customer perceives your company to be like. If they are selling your product they should know how to sell, measure and inform the customer all that your company is trying to deliver.

A few bad seeds are less buisness. Negative press and dissatisfied customers any owner can do without.
