Last Sunday, one of the ladies in my church who believes in her sense of humor more than most of us said to me in the parking lot "i like your skirt".
My 8yo and 6yo daughters both, in unison, and quite loud, corrected her with "IT'S A KILT!!".

I posted this awhile back but I still wonder about it.
I wore my kilt to my Canadian citizenship ceremony. You know how there's always one in the crowd that sees his role as a museum tour guide? I could hear him telling all about him, "Oh, he's from Scotland, they wear that as part of their religion."

At a pub a few months ago ( there is a thread here about this crazy night here somewhere) a bachelorette party came in at about 12:30...
they saw me in my kilt, and the maid-of-honor walks up and tells me "We have been to a lot of bars tonight, and you are the sexiest guy we have seen! Do you have a girlfriend?"
that pretty much would be the best one I've heard so far.

My favorite also happened when not kilted. I was walking in a scottish shop here in Ottawa, my fiance was favourably commenting on some wedding dresses they had there. I mentioned I was not allowed to wear my kilt to the wedding. She looked at my fiance and said "men look so handsome wearing kilts". To which my fiance replied "I know, I am pregnant".

also non-kilted ...
Since I knew I'd be up against truck drivers later I attended the Pomona Highland games/Festival saturday (wearing my faded Clan Levi Strauss bifurcated nonkilt) but this time I had the proper T-shirt.
It reads "Have you had enough of me yet ?
A girl comes up to the Cameron tent and says "That's a great shirt !" I said "Thanks but everybody keeps saying yes to me".
Said she " I didn't, I still love you"
I'm thinking I shoulda asked her name ....
CT - doh !

A couple of weeks back, we were at an Irish pub downtown call 'The Local'. I was in my Black Watch, with a dark blue linen shirt. Snazzy. Headed to the bathroom to rid myself of some of the Guinness I'd been drinking, and passed by these two blonde 20-something ladies. I walked by and heard one of them say, "Oh! He's wearing a kilt!"
Then I heard the two of them start applauding.

My favorite is still what the drunk in the supermarket parking lot hollared out at me in Albuquerque, "Hey Switzerland!"

That's funny
My experience wassn't so much a comment but a look. Awhile back I was out for breakfast with my parents and my kids at a resturant connected with a hotel. As we were leaving through the loby of the hotel, a lady from out of town, saw me walk by cilted and her eyes bugged out. She called the group of people she was with over to watch me walk out to my car. I looked back and there were about ten or so people with their faces pressed against the window watching me. I just smiled, waved.
