Yesterday I went into Wegman's kilted for the first time since I started this thread. "Scottish Bob" is still there, except now he's saying "What did I forget today?" I'm not sure that's an improvement.
Anyhow, when the cashier asked me if I found everthing I was looking for, I replied that I hadn't forgotten anything, and if he checked for anything else, I would be talking to his manager. He hadn't realized that I was wearing a kilt until I made that remark. He got the "Oh s*** What am I supposed to do?" look on his face and just stopped ringing up my groceries. I told him I was joking and got him to start working the register again.
Was this a cruel thing to do? Yes. But he handled it much better than the manager standing at the next register - after one glance, she scurried away!
