    Love it even though..

I too have to say that I LOVE my blk. workman's UK. It is not as heavy as my
Stillwater ( 8yd? ), especially loaded with tool, beers, whatever. It also does not "breathe" like my SW, but it can handle ANYTHING! I know I don't have to worry about it like some of my others, and it gets me lots of compliments. Don't seem to have the curling problems as others. Count myself lucky I guess

I have a carmel UK Workman's and a blue denim UK on order. According to the UK site both these kilts are 12 oz material. It will be interesting to compare how the weight of these kilts feel as compared to my 16 oz, 5 yd wools and my 13 oz, 8 yd wools. It would not seem that these UK's would feel as heavy as either of these wool kilts, and neither leave me feeling tired after wearing them all day. As arrogcow mentioned, it may be due to everything that is being carried in the kilt.

I think my Workmans is probably half the weight of my 16oz tank when holding them, but the tank feels lighter when I'm wearing it. Odd, but it must have something to do with weight distribution and where it sits.

As for the scratchyness of the Workmans, I hand stitched a square piece of moleskin onto the inside of the inner apron.

um, i've worn wool traditional kilts and i've worn the UK Workman's... and the traditional is MUCH heavier...

Workman's is lighter, until you fill the pockets. I carry so much junk when working that I never have when dressed up
