The editor's note in my copy of For Us, The Living says that it is from the original manuscript, with minor editorial changes for clarity and style. And yes, it is a good read.

Since Methuselah's Children is included in Revolt in 2100 and The Past through Tomorrow, it is not specifically mentioned in that list at the top.

I had not looked at that site in a while. It looks like it is current through 1999, but I know that For Us the Living was completed (forget who did the final writing or if it is the original manuscript) and released, sometime in 2004 or
Did not realize that it was originally part of The Past through Tomorrow, Revolt is also not listed among the novels (I always associate them as one book anyway since that is how I read them. On the other hand For Us the Living is listed.

    That's cool, but really...?

Any 15 year old girl is psycho enough without being a psychic, schizoid, mind-twisted weapon. But, hey, most people don't even know what I'm talking about.
BTW, I learned about this through some post on this forum.

Yay! Firefly is the best show!
Once watched every episode back to back to back to... well you get the idea.
The movie was alright, but you can't capture the greatness of the show in just an hour and a half or so.

You mentioned Children of the Sky as a Heinlein novel to read, but I don't remember any novel with that title. Did you mean Orphans of the Sky?
For Us the Living was touched up by Spider Robinson, he helped Virginia sort out a lot of the 'lost' and unpublished works and 'restored' novels after RAH's death.

I meant Orphans, I was doing that list from memory!

Zardoz, thanks! It was bugging me all day, Spider Robinson! I knew that Ginny had helped out, but I could not remember Spider's name.

And a great read. It is amazing to see how much that early work protrayed some of Robert's core beliefs and outlook on life.

And BTW, one of our own fantastic kiltmakers actually new the great man personally!

    Interesting economic theories, too.

For all you Heinlein afficianados, may I recommend John Barnes? Try Orbital Resonance- reminded me of Podkayne of Mars.

I cannot stand Farscape; I watched the first three or four shows, and thought "this is like "Land of the Lost" - an updated early seventies sci-fi TV show, with only slightly better costumes" and never watched it again.

Firefly, however, was one of the most promising concepts to come on the screen in a long time. I thought it was the perfect mix of Characters and plot-lines; they could've gone in dozens of different directions with that show. Sure, some of the characters seemed a bit over the top, but I've know people just like every one of them (except River), including Jayne, and the personality conflicts between them were totally believable; much more realistic than the typical "everybody's a team here" pablum.

I guess, when I think about it, the characters were more important than the plot, at least for me. I was really disappointed when it was canceled ...and yes, I have and have watched the whole series in one sitting.

...and I'm pissed about what happened to Shepherd Book - they never explained any of his mystery!

I didn't like Farscape either but I'll have you know I recently bought the entire series of Land of the Lost.

I guess you'd have to call me a sci-fi fan. My handle is after Starbuck in the original BS Galactica, I have an extensive collection of sci-fi books, been reading Heinlein since I was a kid and have the blue-prints for the Enterprise.

    Do I qualify?

Not just a fan, I'm an author

Not published yet, but I'm working on it.

One of the recent changes I made to the "future history" where my sci-fi stories are set is that kilts are standard menswear and have been for more than a century. Young bravos out to shock their elders have revived the Renaissance fashion of tights and codpieces.
