That's the first thing that went through my mind, too. Great minds, and all...

    trews...

    Dave,

I'd go for trews as well, but I wouldn't go for the MacIan tartan...personally, trews look better in a dark tartan...but that's just me. Government Sett (Black Watch) tartan makes the best trews, but Stewart Hunting, Leslie and Mackenzie also look good.

That's a tough call...if you go with the Government Sett, then it's less likely to attract her attention (and others) at the ceremony and possibly cause an "incident".

If it's an evening wedding, you could always wear your formal rig with trews, a la Hector in "Monarch of the Glen".

    Cheers,

    Todd

I quite agree. I always feel it's good to take the high road.

I agree about the trews, Todd. I was just imagining how much the bright red tartan would stand out.

I really do have to wait and see what the "dress code" is before I can decide what to wear. I don't want to be too dressed up if everyone else is in slacks and a polo shirt. She has been married before, so it might be fairly casual.

I will probably wear slacks and a blue blazer unless they are dressing up more. Heck, if it's appropriate, I'll even wear a tie.

I can understand being disappointed but it's their wedding and their special day. You'll have plenty of other chances to wear a kilt around them later.

    It's not just you.

I still have retinal burn from the time I saw someone wearing "trews" in the Dress McLeod, AKA the "Dress McLOUD."
