My first: black neo-traditional Utilikilt. I was inspired by Patrick Norton on Screen Savers. I liked the look, the price was reasonable, and I wasn't into tartan at the time.

Many kilts since then. I started out collecting contemporaries, but gradually introduced traditional tartans. Now the kilts are about 50/50 contemporary/traditional.

16 oz 8 yard Bruce tartan. It's now too big for me, so it is now in the possesion of my father. (To be returned home if for some reason I happen to gain about 4 inches of waist size!!!!)

    first kilt...

A surplus Royal Highland Regiment (Black Watch) of Canada kilt, made by a firm in Glasgow, that I used for reenacting. I sold it to one of my professors in university who still has it and wears it on occasion to our Scottish society's functions.

My first was a Black Watch Economy Kilt from Celtic Croft. I bought it for Tartan Day 2005 and got it because it was fairly inexpensive and I could get it fairly quickly.

Black Stewart USAK semi-traditional. I wanted the look and feel of a heavyweight traditional, but couldn't afford it. Gotta keep saving my pennies!
