Factoid
In the United States, the type of natural event that causes the most deaths each year is:
- Earthquakes
- Floods
- Shark attacks
- Tornados
- Lightning
- Heat
- Hurricanes
- Snake bites
- Volcanos
- Mosquitoes (a.k.a. "skeeters")
- Wildfires
- Hail
- Plague of frogs
- People asking "whatcha wearin' under yer skurt?"
The correct answer is heat. More people broil themselves to death for various reasons and in various ways than any other natural disaster.
And on that cheerful note ...

Scott Gilmore
