I'll admit in certain circumstances I don't mind so much.
However, what irritates me is that some people seem to think that just because you wear a kilt, they somehow have a right to do these things. Those are the ones that need the thumping.

I know what you mean. It's the double standard thing. Lifting up a woman's skirt/dress would get you thrown behind bars for a while but someone lifting your kilt just gets a laff.
The SWK Nightstalker sporran can hold a pistol. THey even have a video demo of such.
The integrated sporran on my Pittsburgh Kilt holds a medium frame autoloader (Bulgarian Makarov) perfectly, with the front half of the pocket being good to hold a couple of spare magazines. It doesn't seem to print, either, so I've carried often this way without arousing suspicion.
I have a handgun carry permit. Think it'd be wrong to wear a holster on my kilt belt? Maybe that would deter some of the lookeeloos...
In almost all states, a handgun carry permit specifies concealed carry. So, yes, most of the time I think that would be very inappropriate. I do carry concealed with a kilt and usually it is in the sporran but sometimes it is IWB in the small of the back.
Though on a tangent, I am an outspoken proponent of open carry rights (and WITHOUT a permit!). I'd be happy to take that particular discussion private with anyone but don't feel it would be good mojo to go into it in depth in a kilt forum.
