While traveling to Berlin we stopped in Eindhoven, Holland. I went out kilted that evening after watching the first England match. We cleaned up at the hotel and walked across the street to a cool little restaurant.

You can see the hotel on the right side of the picture and that is where a guy and his girl were sitting when we walked out. He shouted "Scottish!" I gave him a wave. He wanted to know what was under the kilt. I told him i was regimental. He kept shouting and then dropping F-bombs (I'm pretty sure he was drunk). I replyed with the same and learned that sometimes its best to keep my mouth shut. I felt embarassed for yelling what I did, especially with the outdoor restaurant right across the street. Drunks are best avoided if they become obnoxtious. Lesson learned.

I will never forget one of the first nights I went kilted to a bar. I was with my wife and two of her female friends, not bad numbers if I do say so . When leaving the bar and walking amongst the drunks one idiot yelled nice skirt. Someone in the crowd, unknown by us, yelled at him its a kilt and he is with women and you are alone! Many other comments have been heard since but I will always remember that drunks face.
