Thanks everyone. I definitely plan on getting some tartan kilts in the future--I think I'm already addicted and I haven't even got me first kilt yet!--but I wanted something light and versatile to start out with. I envision adding many kilts to my wardrobe for all occasions and circumstances.
Welcome from Wrightsville, PA. I also just started out on this whole kilted thing with an Amerikilt 3 weeks ago. Love it so far. Everyone is correct. You will be purchasing a tartan or two shortly. I know am deciding now.
Where and when will you be wearing your kilts? Can you wear kilts at work?
When I received my first kilt two weeks ago I was all freaked out about going out in public in it. It's a tan Utilikilt original.
I have been through shopping centers, malls, stores, and a tourist town - no one really cares or says anything.
I'm still nervous about wearing it in public though - it's still a new concept. I can tell a lot of people are looking at me....or is it just my imagination?
Anyway, please let us know how your first outings work out.
Hey, man! I just noticed that you are in Hemet. My in-laws live in Hemet. Now I have a good reason to bring a Kilt along the next time I visit. Excellent...
Welcome from Colorado.
And, you’ll love a USAK casual in Poly Viscose in your climate. It’s the next best thing to real worsted wool but lots cooler.
