I may get the nylon sporran in the future (I have a feeling I will) but I like the look of the Rob Roy a lot.

Rocky, thanks for the tip. I'll see how it goes. I'll get flashes eventually either way. At first, I didn't know how I felt about flashes, but after seeing a lot of pictures, I think they add quite a bit to the overall look. But having only an olive AmeriKilt, red, navy or green won't look very good. To be sure, those colours will be added to my wardrobe eventually, but for now I'd like something pretty neutral (like black, unless I can find some OD green or similar shade fabric to make the flashes myself).
