I almost always do the shirt
    then socks
    then shoes
    and only then the kilt
    followed by belt and sporran

I find it much easier to sort out the shoes before having to bend over and around the kilt!

My order varies somewhat, but it goes something like this:

Sportkilt Roll out of bed, toss on Sportkilt, walk to kitchen door.

Sandals Slip on sandals, let adult dogs out, feed puppies (who are out on the patio) This step usually takes some time, then the dogs go back in and I strip for the shower.

    After Shower:

Shirt Usually a T-shirt, picked because a) it was clean b) it matches the kilt I plan to wear.

Kilt Most days a Utilikilt, sometimes a Stillwater. If its a SK, then I put on the shoes first.

Belt Half of my kilts always have a belt in them, if not, I put one on immediately

Socks/Shoes If I am wearing boots, then I first put on wool mountain climbing socks. After that the boots go on. During warm weather I usually just put sandals on my bare feet. (when wearing my stillwater, I always wear boots and they go on first)

Sporran Only if I am wearing the SK or UK leather.

Pager, Cellphone, Knife Always with me

Hat Could be a beret, balmoral, booney cap, or skullcap. Never a ballcap.

I'm starting to understand the practicality of doing hose, flashes (if), shoes, shirt, kilt, belt (if) in that order.

For my 8-5 wear, it's tee, dainties, socks, shirt, trousers, shoes, moustache wax, belt, tie, jacket,

If (now rarely) business casual, it's dainties, socks, slacks, shirt, wax, belt, shoes.

It's pretty confusing in my boudoir. Switching back and forth means that I probably don't have any particular set way of doing things.

    Shirt
    Kilt
    Socks
    Footwear.

I don't dress in "formal" kilt attire. I didn't like dressing up when I wore pants and I won't do so just because I wear kilts.. I dress for comfort..
