Trend setters
Happy birthday Hamish. The only way to celebrate one's birthday is in the presence of friends and wearing an xmarksthescot kilt. Since I did that for my 60th and now you've done it, maybe we can start a trend.

"Over the Hill and Still Running Wild"
Is what I go by. Looks like a great party. How kind of your neighbors to help you celbrate.
And THANK YOU for showing that gold hose DO go with the X Marks kilt!

Yes, Ron, I am extremely fortunate in having the neighbours I do - even if they are all female and of 'a certain age'!!
I was not too sure about the "gold" hose. I've only just acquired it and thought it looked more 'summery' than the blue with yellow-patterned tops I usually sport. Tomorrow (Saturday) I am going up to London for the day (I need more kilt hangers, oh and Cologne, and can get my favourites only in the capital!) to meet with Howie (TFCK) and his family. I propose wearing a new plain gold/yellow short-sleeved shirt with the X Marks kilt, but I really cannot make up my mind about which hose to wear with this ensemble. It is too hot to wear boots, so the hose will have to be worn 'up' and I suspect there is going to be either too much yellow or too much blue. Oh, blow it - I'll decide in the morning!!!

Okay, now I'm jealous...why can't TFCK have an Arizona office/plant too??!! Maybe here on the reservation, they could teach the Navajo ladies to sew up kilts. They're already quite good with wool.
Hope you have a great trip. My lady is headed for Las Vegas tomorrow for a week and I get to go along as official pool lizard. Wanna scout out The Tilted Kilt and Jack's Irish Pub (no booze, just the fish and chips)....and maybe see what belts are available about town. Know there's a Scottish supplier there too but they don't do retail...
Weird, I have my kilts all picked out and garment bagged up with the shirts and hose and flashes....who'd have ever thought I'd grow old and pay so much attention to "fashion." Always figured I'd wind up in an old tattered flannel shirt and bib overalls with drool stains.
Kilts have so enhanced my life.
Enjoy London,
Ron

Ham,
I have that dilemma with one of my favorite shirts, a canary yellow Fred Perry with blue piping, and my X Marks kilt (which is done, I just have to take the photos to prove it!). I haven't worn the shirt with full hose yet. Please let us know what you end up and, if time permits, take a picture!

A belated Happy Birthday, Ham! Great pics as usual. BTW, when are you going to start posting pics at KPG? We could really use a touch more class (that's directed at me, no one else) at the site.
