			Better late than never!

OK, I know. I know, and I apologise! The Harpenden Highland Gathering took place just over two weeks ago and here I am only just ready to try to post a few photos. Well, the weather is just a little cooler for a few days and so I am making the most of the 'window' to launch a couple of images from my camera in spite of the fact that they are not being re-sized automatically. Actually, I took quite a pics but they are mostly of Pipe Bands and un-named little Highland Dancing girls - I know you'd rather see images of folks you know so here goes:

Here you see, apart from myself, An t-Ileach (David), Paco500 (Matthew), Dave W and DWG69 (Derek) all of us 'doing a Hamish'! Note Derek's superb fret-work X Marks sign!

We never did manage to get us all together for one photo. After Dave W and his wife had left, Rhino (Ged) and his family arrived and so we had another shot at 'doing a Hamish' - either some of the guys had been practising or they'd done it before!

Here's a shot Dave W took with his mobile phone and which he asked me to post:
Dave seems to have caught us in a more subdued moment!!
Finally, for those that can bear it, here's a video clip of the British Airways Pipe Band marching in. As before, click on this image to access the start of the clip.

Right! That's it. I will not be mentioning The Harpenden Highland Gathering again - until next year - and that's a promise!!

That is Ged, Cloves. His kilt is from the same 'stable' as my pinstripe kilt suit: "21st Century Kilts" in Edinburgh.

					Hamish -
I love the pictures and your video reminds me that one of the concerns when doing a video of a marching band is being in the wrong place and getting run over.

Now.....I must ask this.....I see some of the guys had wide brimmed hats and I'm wondering if you had one? When I was at the Highland Games in Flagstaff two weekends ago I totally FRIED the top of my head.....along with my face, neck, and arms. I was just curious...

No, Phil, I did not have a hat. I sun-screened up before the event but I admit I did need a wee top-up (begged from Derek's wife, Chris) at the end of the afternoon! Hats and me just do not work together - I loathe them and always have, and you'll very seldom see me wearing one.
