I thought it was interesting that non-highland attire was permitted at the event. The rules of the North American Chamiopnships state that highland attire is required and no player will be permitted past the marshal without a hat... and that includes women.
Tell us a bit about the glass building in the background of the 1st photo... it's beautiful.
I presume there must have been a massed band at the end of the day. How many bands attended? Were there many bands from Canada in attendance?
One of these days, time and money permitting, I'd love to do a whisky tour and take in the World Championships on the same trip. Wouldn't be for a couple of years... in the meantime, I'll have to settle for a disc and a bottle.

approx 200 bands--10 from Canada. The Building is Glasgows famous Peoples palace-its a museam dedicated to the people of Glasgow, showing how that lived over the years--also has a great cafe in the glass dome which was a hot house for exotic plants
