Malts
I'm either in a Islay mood, in which case it is Lagavulin 16yr old or Bowmore, or a Speyside one, in which case it is Cragganmore 12yr. Speyside when I am in need of a lift to the spirits (sic) and Islay when I am in mood to explore the complexities a bit more.

Not that I've ever tasted a whisky I didn't like, but I love Glenkinchie.

Notice that all P1M's favorites are old enough to buy themselves a drink!
That truly is the good stuff!.
On my budget, I love the Islay whiskys.
I'll second the Lagavulin, followed closely by Laphroaig, and Ardbeg.
My other favorite is Highland Park.

It's a toss-up between Glenfiddich 12 and Glenlivet 12, I'm testing the Glenfiddich this month.
Another unusual single malt is the McClelland Speyside, this finish has a hint of vanilla, you will like the price of this one and the other three McClellands..

I'll second the Highland Park, and add a Dalwhinnie 15 year. Laphroaig is a given, but so is the Dalmore and the Macallan for me.

Yummy, yummy, yummy.
Out of curiosity and ignorance (could have sent a PM, but the teacher in me says there are more out there with the same questions):
The Mortlach 60 yr auld... Was it bottled in 1938,? Destilled in 1938 and bottled in 1998, or how are the years counted?

It was distilled in 1938 and bottled in 1998. The "age" of a whiskey refers to the time in the cask. Once it hits a bottle, which is vacuum sealed, the aging stops. How long it has been since the bottling is of limited interest.
