I've been watching Utilikilts on Ebay for several months now just out of curiousity and I can't believe how high they go. I don't know of any clothing items that hold their value like that. It's not really that unusual for UKs to go for more than they could be purchased brand new.

That is odd, seeing as UKs aren't outta buisness or anything. Only other clothing I've ever seen go for more than retail is sports jerseys and sneakers. I made a small fortune last year selling some old stuff. I wish I had some of it to sell now, I'd buy a new tank

Many of us whom already own UK's likely wouldn't consider going above this mfgr's sale price. I for one wouldn't consider it, unless these exceptions were present: 1. (a material/b size/c color) I might want the kilt in a specific material or size that is no longer available at UK, or; 2. (necessity to have in short time) I may find that a time factor presses me to buy it because I've a project or event to attend and it is available to me faster than UK's usual delivery projection, or; 3. (distance and cost of travel to and from store) I might live farther away than simple economics would allow for to make an in person off the shelf purchase. And I may feel strongly enough about my wanting to buy the kilt that an above cost price is more easily justified to my household/wardrobing budget guideline.
I live about 2miles (just under 3k) from UK. But, when they move the store, they will be only about ten blocks away from me! I'm gonna like that!!!
btw, my Desert Camo Original in ripstop nylon was one of the last made. I understood them to be saying that that one would no longer be in production. It's also my favorite kilt of All my kilts.
I would go above msrp for another one. (excp 1 ab&c)

Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

I wanted one of those rip-stop cammo UK's but waited too long before ordering one. A UK rep told me that they couldn't get that material any more ... they'll only make kilts out of material that is made in America and that material, even for the U.S. Military, is now made elsewhere, he said.
I love my UK's but they are just too heavy in this Texas heat ... I really wish those guys would get some kind of really light weight, easy breathing material to make some Originals out of. Of course, living in Seattle there just isn't much reason to do that.
How much ya want for that rip-stop kilt, Morrison?
Kilt On.

I'd like to entertain offers, or more aptly put, one perfect offer Chris. But Seattle is also an excellent showcase town! Thanks for the try bro, but I'll keep my camo and i'll be on the lookout for camo with you in mind.
I suppose there is some camo out there.

Here's the other side of the coin: A month or so ago a water damaged black Workmans UK showed up on their scratch and dent list marked down $20 to $175. I was tempted but held off. Much to my surprise it then appeared on EBay, being offered by one Hef the Pirate who had no feedback at all (obviously a new seller). Now the pictures looked not so good. A number of whitish lines crossed both sides of the kilt. But I wanted it for work and wasn't too concerned about the looks. In short, I bid the minimum of $97.50 and won it, since no one else on all the seven seas placed a bid. The kicker is that I washed it and the water marks dissapeared! So I got a brand new Workmans UK for half of the retail price. Now I'm the one who feels like a pirate, Yarr!
I've kilt for less.

it could have been UK selling their own kilts on ebay, I noticed a seller in same area selling UK's on ebay, his description was a little too professional.

If you do it wisely, you can make some nice money off the scratch-n-dent list.
I bought my Survival kilt off the list cheap becuase it had been washed and returned so couldn't be sold as new. I turned around and sold it on ebay for my total cost plus $20 or $30. times that by a few per year and you've purchased a new USAK or FK.
