Alan,
You see those at a lot of Renaissance Faires. The quality of the metal is pretty poor but they are handsome. Three bucks is best price I've ever heard for one of them. I'd say you got a good deal.

Pakistan, and stainless? Rat-tail tang? (although not as critical on a knife), but for three bones, it's not bad... first it's a dagger, so it wouldn't be subjected to the kind of use that make other blades break. Stainless isn't bad on knives, depending on size...and lastly, it's very unlikely that you would ever need to draw/use it. For three bucks I would have bought it too.

Yup, Pakistan, and stainless. Do't know what kind of tang it has. So far I've used it for a letter opener and to help take the skin off an orange and it performed admirably in both functions.....Oh, and I stuck the blade and the sheath in my sock and walked around the Faire with it.. It did pretty well at that, too.
Now, will it hold an actual edge? I doubt it, but *pfeh*, who cares? It's an ornament, not a real knife, ya know?

$3 though, the only way you could have really gotten better is free.
