    The more washing it gets the softer it will become. To speed the process was and dry your tennis shoes at the same time. Does anyone still wear tennis shoes?

    Thanks for the advice on dry cleaning.

    My tartan which gives me most cause for concern is the Northumberland. I have had it now 3 years and wear it quite a bit. There is a lot of white in it! The front apron is not not as "sharp," the white being a lttle discolored (you can only really see that when the front apron is turned and you compare it with the under apron.) So, spot cleaning will not work. Any thoughts on cleaning just the front apron?
