An American-based seller (that Iolaus showed me to help me score major points last year with the wife) of all sorts of alcoholic beverages is High Times Wine Cellar. They have stuff that I didn't even know was available in the US until I visited them.

Example: Jennifer (my wife) fell in love with Bunnahabhain while we were in Glasgow in early 2004 and we were told that we couldn't get it in America. Well, I found it there... and Jenn got it for our anniversary last year!

Our liquor stores are mostly for the college crowd, so single malts are a bit hard to find, period. But if you're looking for cheap vodka and Jagermeister, you've come to the right place.

And it may be available now, but when we were in Scotland we were told that Bunnahabhain wasn't yet available in America. Guess it is now.

I have seen it at the local store in my area too. I haven't tried it yet though. There was also a higher end ($130) bottle of Port finish Scotch as well, the distillery escapes me at this point. Most people who go in there aren't after the Scotch, so I don't need to worry too much.

Glen Garioch is a nice Highland single if you are on a budget as well... smokey, and peaty... nice rounded, and slightly robust. It's one that I would buy again, if not for wanting to try other makes.

I just bought a bottle of 12 yro Bunnahabhain from a Liquor store in
South Carolina. It is quite good. A lighter taste than the average
Islay Malt. I found it has hints of orange and toffee with
a nice light peat finish.
