How many made an appearance for the World Cup?
Not that I am necessarily a football fan, but I have watched the world cup from time to time... although I cannot travel due to budget and time constraints really. More time issues than anything though. I used to watch it more when I was younger, and living overseas though. Still one of the best examples of competition on a global scale, aside from the Olympics. One of the things I could never grasp was why in baseball, the championship was dubbed the "World Series", despite the fact that it is based solely within the U.S.
I tend to root for Germany though... my mother is German, and my uncle played for the local/regional team (Bayern if my memory serves, it's been a number of years).
Think of all the extra beer sales!!
