Thank you for explaining that. PCS is a much more appropriate name.

Does anyone know the weight of the "heavyweight 100% wool" that SWK uses for that saffron kilt?
Can't find it on the website.
Thanks,
Ron

It has the same feel as a medium weight Strathmore with a less hard finish due to the shadow weaving. A size 34" weighs 3 lbs. 7 oz. (per the usps mailing weight). So my math says somewhere about 11-13 oz. O'Neille

When I bought mine I asked Jerry and he said it was a 13-oz cloth.
(EDIT. Added 9/16) I believe it. The total length for my size 36 is about 7.6 yards. It feels heavier than my 7-yard custom made Gordon, also13-oz.

Check the waist and see if the extra material is still there and that might be the weight dif. I know it is on my SWK BW.

I think that does account for some of the difference, but the extra 0.6 yards does as well. What do you think, would the material in the pleats come to about as much as that, or more?

I would indeed think the extra material in the fell could certainly account for the difference. I don't have a heavyweight SWK (yet... that will be changing today or tomorrow ) But, I have a standard, so I'm pretty familiar with the extra material. Just my two cents!
