    Andrew,

I have a French and Indian War (dare I say) British Infantry uniform and I dable in the War of 1812. I try to be as authentic as is practicle, I don't hand sew, so no thread counter am I. I make my own leather items. I do have two old Can Scot sporrans which I would like to refurbish and use. I have been slowly collecting items of use to the Highland soldier. I had a baskit-hilted sword but it was a pain to wear when lugging a brown Bess, bayonet, cartridge box, haversack, canteen and powder horn.

    Cool.
I think at that time (French and Indian war), regimetals would have still worn the feilidh mohr though. It's a bit trickier to wear, but I still think that not much beats it. Black Watch would be an appropriate tartan to wear for such a thing. I'm more into jacobite/'45 era historical attire myself... still working on assembling enough stuff!

    Welcome Kevin,

I spent a summer at Comox/Nanaimo about 1960. Beautiful country.

Hope you hook up with Steve Ashton who posted above.

I don't do reenacting, but I do like to buy replica battlejackets from War II and the War Between the States to wear with my kilts. There are pics in my gallery.
