Good pic, Martin. I notice that the bike is a ladies model, but I guess that is the way to go - in a kilt! I have cycled from London to Brighton for charity in a mini-skirt (but that's another story!) and, back in the 1960's, I used to ride my Vespa scooter whilst kilted (which was great fun!).

I think he might well need a "kilt clip" on a gentleman's bicycle Ham!

Good pic, Martin. I've seen an elderly kilted gentleman riding a bike in Edinburgh but its not something I've tried myself.

Well, I tried cycling in Edinburgh once in a kilt - but it was a long time ago. These days, I have the tartan striped cycling shorts!

Was Hamish a Mod? Now that's a picture I'd like to see.

Martin, I would very much like to ride a bike more, I have never done it kilted.
I notice you are not wearing a sporran, would a sporran not help in keeping the apron down in a wind?
That type of bike used to be considered a ladies bike, but I notice that few mens bikes have those aweful crossbars now, they are all being designed with a more open frame, good thing!

I rarely wear a sporran any more; I find it more of a nuisance than useful.
On a bike, it would make no difference. The wind does not blow the kilt up, as people seem to imagine, rather it keeps the front down between the knees, and I have never felt exposed.
The only thing is to keep the saddle high so that the cloth will not touch the rear wheel.
Yes, it is undoubtedly a woman's bike, but so what? It was cheap!!! The cross-bar on men's bikes may strengthen the frame, but can also be an instrument of torture!
(sorry I did something wrong in posting the pic. Thank you, KCwarrior for finding the right address. It may be because my ISP "wanadoo" has changed its name to "orange".
