Good site for kilting pics
I don't know if this has been mentioned before or not but there is a daily posting of pictures related to kilting at http://sporranclan.typepad.com/ .
There is also a facility for comments.
You don't have to be a member to access the site either.

I've visited Sporranclan website once or twice, but I'm not a member. They hold kilt meets in Edinburgh, but AFAIK they are part of the Edinburgh LGBT scene?

The Sporran Clan web site is to the gay community what Xmarks is to the straight community. There are people of both persuasions on both websites, but their forum has a gay chat room-like feel to it (you figure out how I know this). It is likely to be offensive to some people.
I prefer this forum, Xmarks, for its navigability, usefulness and all-purpose friendliness, and though the moderators here can sometimes draw the line somewhere other than where I would, I appreciate their work in keeping this a place for everyone (including me).
Anyone should feel free to visit the Sporran Clan, but do be aware of and try to respect the audience it serves.
Regards,
Rex in Cincinnati

McClef, did you look at the site before you posted the link?? Some of the photos are a bit...inappropriate.
I don't find it amusing to see photos of men with their kilts lifted up.

Very well stated, Rex. Thank you. I was in at the start of The Sporran Clan but, frankly, found it was not (quite) right for me! The website does have a huge photo collection, however, with a fair number of our members featured there - all very innocently, I promise them!!

I was a member, and still am as far as I know. The creator of that site posted here for a short while, his real name was Jamie, and I think he posted under that name. What turned me off was the constant emails to participate more on the sporran clan website, please come to the events, you haven't posted in a while, etc.. Content that is not to my taste I can ignore, but the repetitive requests to participate were annoying.

I check the site once in a while, but I didn't join...a tad bit too vulgar.
Too much kilt lifting stuff...not my taste and I dare to say...bad taste in general.
I don't feel offended...not even shocked (need to do better/worse to shock me). I'm not gay, but I have gay friends and I'm not biased...not at all...it's just bad taste (imho) and has nothing or very little to do with the kilt.
Xmarks is to the point...kilts, nice people, advise, awesome stories and events...the lot. And Xmarks is for all ...the way it should be.
I'm happy here

The internet is a big place. While Xmarks maintains a level of decorum suitable for a wide membership, those with more focused tastes must also have a home. Everyone has the option of participating where they are most comfortable. Or staying away from places they find uncomfortable. There's room enough for all.

I fully appreciate that not all the pics may be to everyone's taste but the blog is tongue in cheek and amusing rather than vulgar.
But there are still very many perfectly decent pictures of kilting situations and it can be very informative and instructive.
Perhaps I should have posted a "may offend" warning though.

ai'm a sporran clan member an enjoy the site on occasion...(it is whit it is- as others have stated  )
Jamie seems a friendly guy...
ai did discover (sadly) that the kilt nichts they hold in Edinburgh were for "men only" which disappointed me... (at least this wuz true aboot a year ago...)
not ma scene... but maire power tae them, ai say...
oiny thing "manly", like a kilt, is bound tae attract gay men as well as straicht (an several other catagories as weel  )
an ai think that's a guid thing
