    With the form of what looks like serifs, I'd say it's a W, not an M.

    My greek is appalling, but I didn't realise that the lowercase omega had a vertical riser/stroke in it? I was tending towards the "flourished W" in an uncial font theory, myself.

    The lower-case omega does have a riser, of sorts, (you can see it here),
    but it's *usually* wider than it is tall. I still lean towards an embellished uncial W.

    Or maybe it should be rotated 90 degrees to the right to become an embellished E?


    Just kidding. It's probably not that. When I first saw it, I thought maybe it was a pin from an antique store. It's very handsome. If it were the right size, it might pass for a kilt pin on a Wallace or Welsh person.
