Your Avatar. Live it! Wear yer kilt.
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Think of the Scots warriors who came home from war bent and crippled. I doubt they worried about how they looked, and neither should you. It's about confidence, honoring your heritage, and comfort. Kilt on!

I fitted plenty of abundantly sized men into Utilikilts (options include the double beer gut cut), and think they looked great, as do you. I second the socks suggestion. Kilt on!
Best regards,

Wear it with pride and don't worry about what others think.

The kilt looks fine on you. Remember there were a lot of short and squat Scotsmen who wore them!
I hear it often from men with more "robust" body types that they don't think the kilt will look good on them. Nonsense! A good kilt can actually help make you look slimmer -- and one thing that people forget is that kilts are *tailor made to fit you*. This means no matter what your body type, it should fit well and look good.
I made a kilt last year for someone with a 62" waist and recieved the most glowing email from him when he recieved it. He has trouble finding clothing that fits well, but this kilt was made just for him and fit like a glove. He was comfortable, and looked good.
Never let body type be an excuse not to wear the kilt!
Aye,
Matt

I agree with the others. Wear your kilt with pride!
Throw on some socks (scrunch them down) and some heavy boots and it will and visual weight down below. A nice polo or button down shirt (match the color to your socks) and you'll be good to go.

I disagree with Panache and think that the belt looks great. It would look better with a plain sporran and proper kilt hose though. As far as your physique goes everything looks fine to me, in fact everybody looks good in a kilt, no matter what size or shape they are.
The Kilt is my delight !

That's a pretty darn good looking outfit. I think it looks great the way it is. As an option you could always wear a waistcoat. They are always flattering to the portly crowd. Think Burl Ives, he even wore one when he was a snowman. O'Neille

Hey, I am about 6'1" and around 53" at the waist... by no means I am a small guy in that respect. I still wear the kilt. It actually seems to help hide some of my girth.
Your kilt is fine. You look fine. Word of the day: accessorize. It really brings the look of the kilt out.
Edit: for some reason I didn't notice that there were more than 3 pages!
Heh. Oops! 2nd pic looks good... accessories... gotta love 'em.
