I've just started working on leather carving after a break of about 20 years.
The flap is a Welsh Dragon from the Welsh Flag (Inspired by Derek's pics of Wales)

This was a trial run using materials I had on hand. It is a little crude, but I'm learning. All the stiching and lacing were done by hand (It doesn't show well, but the gussett was laced to the back panel) I have no plans to make things for sale. I'm doing these for myself, but I appreciate the craftsmanship and inspiration of others on this forum who are much more talented and creative. I've seen some interesting embossed leather patterns, but carved leather has more depth.

As others have mentioned about the self-satisfaction of making their own kilts, I'm enjoying the challenge of making my own leather work. Next up is a belt with celtic knot work.
