Look at the pic of the back of your kilt. See how the pleats are pulled up in the center back? That is because the two loops in the back of Traditional Style Kilts are not, repeat, not, belt loops.

They are sporran loops. The sporran strap go through them and they hold the strap in place under the level of the belt.

The belt then goes over the top of the loops. It is purely decorative and does not go through any loops.

By putting the belt over the top of everything else it will not pull the center pleats up and out of shape causing that unsightly pucker in the back center pleats.

Other than that you have one very nice kilt there. Your whole outfit is well thought out and quite well co-ordinated.

You say that you only put the sporran through and not the belt.

Barb and others say neither the belt or the sporran go through.

Still others only the belt goes through.

I've also seen most guys at Celtic events with both belt and sporran through.

Face it there is no consensus only opinion.
