I recently ended up bringing a kilted Santa home...much to Mrs. Argon's dismay. My aunt passed away and I drove my mom over to her house to meet with the rest of the family to go through her effects. I was urged to take anything that I wanted as keepsakes to remember my aunt. So I now have most of her egg cup collection and - kilted, dancing Irish Santa...made of that cold cast resin but with a pretty well detailed fabric outfit complete with a wee, little, tiny sporran...how cute. I figured that I'd post a photo nearer to the holidays.

Back when our quintessential Chicago department store was still Marshall Field's and not Macy's, they carried a lot of "International Santa's" that were actually pretty nice (and I dislike tchachtkes immensely). I managed to give a friend's wife a Welsh Santa that she really got a kick out of.

When I used to work at Famous Barr (now Macy's and down here the change was for the better) we sold similar kilted Santas for several years. I had thought many times about buying on but they were about $25 and of so so quality.
