a bit of an odd question...

Does anyone here that wears a UK also wear a kilt pin on it? I've seen a few pictures of it and wondered how many people actually do and for what reasons. I do it to keep my front apron from flying up when running but I'm not sure as to other reasons for doing it.

I used to. I like kilt pins and consider them one of key ingredients of a well turned out kilt ensemble. I think of them almost like jewelry. Some how the rough and tumble, wash and wear nature of the Utilikilt no longer seems consistent with kilt pins. I now save my kilt pins for tartan kilts.

I don't wear one on my Utilikilt because the apron is so narrow it doesn't look good. Just my opinion.

That was my feeling as well; the pin would almost be dead center unless you had it at the extreme edge.

I've seen it done in photos only. I don't because I don't want to poke holes in the cotton/poly fabric.

Have 15 UKs and never used a kilt pin on any of them...just looks too weird to me too.

I have put a LOT of patches on the cargo pockets from time to time...but always eventually take them off.

I do, sometimes. Reason: Someone here said you should never, and, like wearing the kilt, wearing a pin is just another way to express my individuality. I solve the position problem with proportion; I use a smaller pin.
