but I think if it were more widely known that sports teams wore kilts at times, it would be a huge leap ahead for acceptance by the general public.
The image of tough fighting men is probably at the far end of the spectrum from what most people think of when they hear of a soft (?) effeminate (?) skirted oddity.
I'm not keen on the product, but I think "Sportkilt" has the best trade name around. Get them making something decent, and take a note out of Utilikilts marketing schemes, and then kilting will no longer be scorned by the village idiots.
Back on topic; my French wife never found anything strange about my kilt wearing, likes GB, and rarely makes any comments about my attire.
We never tried to play the typical married couple, or care very much about what other people thought about our oddity.
