I took C152T's comments to indicate wanting/enjoying a specific reason to wear a kilt
Correct. I could, and sometimes do, wear a cheap acrylic or polycotton kilt around the house or for going to the supermarket for the week's groceries, but I was referring to the fact that there are fewer occasions to dress up in a proper wool kilt during the winter months. There are as others have said, a few such events such as Christmas Dinner and Burns Supper, and Ann and I are planning to spend a week in Edinburgh in February where I would expect to be kilted all week.

I hope to be there for a couple of days in February too.
Just be prepared for all the tourists who will ask you for a photo!

You must look more approachable than me. I have worn a kilt out and about in Edinburgh many times and only once been asked to pose for a photo by a tourist. We are planning to be based in Edinburgh from 2nd to 9th February as we have exchanged our next timeshare week in Madeira for one at an Edinburgh condominium. Maybe see you there McClef, and perhaps a few other forumites too.

I've got several kilted events coming up from now through February, St Andrews Dinner Dance, Kirkin', Thanksgiving, Christmas Party, Christmas, Burns Supper, another Kirkin' and several other events. This is my time of year to wear the kilt.

I don't know why I should look any more approachable Alex all I know is everytime I have been there, the last time being two weekends ago, I get beseiged by desperate tourists who have been scouring the city in vain for the opportunity to be photographed with a guy in a kilt!
I will have to check my dates, be nice if they coincide!
