poutine is definitely how one would spell that lovely quebecois dish!
the irish moonshine is most often spelled Poitín (notice the diacritic mark over the second letter i).
I have a small bottle of "commercial" poitín that my sister bought for me in Ireland last year that I keep forgetting I have and need to open.
