Oh! Many thanks for that, Mr. Bill. Actually, I never look down there as I always use the "Post Reply" or "Quote" buttons.

You may call me a curmudgeon or a scrooge or any other damn thing you like.

I like how this forum works: software upgrades happen and we don't notice a disruption (yay!), we are civil with each other (yay!), and I have learned a hell of a lot in the past few days (double yay!). This is a pretty good group of guys to belong to. My only complaint? Smilies. I can't abide the things. They are just too unbearably cute.

    \(^_^)/ Bah.

I mean, here we are asserting that the wearing of the kilt demonstrates our masculinity to ourselves, to women, and to other men. But we use smilies to do it? How manly is that? Is it just me, or do these two facts seem contradictory?

As we have a smiley for the Saltire flag would it be possible for one with Y Ddraig Coch (The Red Dragon flag of Wales)?

I expect that US and Canadian flags would also be popular!

    Thanks Mike,

I just uploaded IE 7 in a fit of optimism this morning so having to relearn where stuff is...might as well fire this up with X Marks too.

    Appreciate the directions...

Sorry Mike, but what should I be looking for? What is an "editor"? I have noticed that the 'reply' box/window has a lot of symbols above it - but I dare not touch them - and smilies on the right of it, !! Is this what you are referring to?

For those that may not be using the Full Editor, follow these instructions

UserCP > on the left column, Edit Options > scroll down to Miscellaneous Options > select Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing > then Save Changes
Is that something I should be doing, Mike?

Erin, thanks for asking about "WYSIWYG". When I see things like that I really start to panic! Computer-speak is another language in another world to me!! (I'm still not sure I am any the wiser though!)
