While I like kilts (obviously), I do not think I could wear one in a working kitchen. By "working kitchen" I mean a restaurant kitchen as apposed to a home kitchen.
Agreed. I worked my summer holiday one year as a galley slave on the Paddle Steamer Waverley and wore trousers every day. Kilts just wouldn't have been practical. I've worn a kilt to go as a passenger on the Waverley but it wouldn't have been suitable for working in the kitchen. Kitchen work is largely backstage anyway where the kilts are unseen by the public. IMHO kilts are better suited to front of house staff than a chef. PIM may contradict me though as he cooks brekky in a kilt at Ferintosh.
