If you do Christmas, or a birthday is coming up, either ask for money or give them a link to a sporran you want. There are some good and inexpensive ones on some of the ad links above. Are you working at all, or just going to school?
When you get a kilt pin, did you read on here how to actually wear them? I always thought too that they were pinned through both layers of material, but actually it is better to have it just on the outside layer for weight so as not to pull the other layer and maybe rip something.
DALE.
You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

No, right now I'm just concentrating on school but I do occasional odd-jobs for people, so I do have some income. As for a sporran I found one I like for about $45. And thanks for the info on kilt pins.

A sporran will help a LOT.check out the $15 sporrans that Stillwater kilts has. yup, a real sporran (daywear) for $15. It'll make a big difference in your overall appearrance.
If those teachers make inappropriate comments again (I'm a substitute teacher) ESPECIALLY where other students can hear them and this goes ten times over if you are actually in class, then close your book, get up and walk out of class. if the teacher asks you where you are going, tell them that you are going to the vice-principals office. Don't be disrespectful, and if pushed hard by the teacher, stop talking but keep walking. Then go straight to the Vice-Principal and don't leave until you tell him/her *exactly* what happened and point out that there are witnesses.
Do NOT exaggerate. VP's deal with kids making up wild stories about teachers all the time. I just had a girl make up a ridiculous story about me going off on her, screaming in public and calling her four letter words, repeatedly in front of masses of people. It was preposterous......and VP's hear this sort of thing all the time. Be totally accurate, passionate but not overblown, and very *aware*. You don't even have to say the word 'lawyer", you can just let them know that you'll be telling your parents about the incident..
About the kids.... that's a tough one. If the comments are just an every-once-in-a-while thing, then no big deal. If it's a recurring thing, or goes hand-in-hand with other aggressive or abusive behavior on the part of the person(s) that's doing it, then you have an issue.
Think about it, and think hard. Ten years from now, what do you think you will look back and wish you'd done?
I'll tell you honestly that I'm content with how I handled most of the stupid/nasty jerks in high school, and what imostly did was keep walking. However, I'll also tell you honestly that there are two guys that I wish I'd smashed in the face. Even if I'd lost the resulting fight, I STILL wish I'd done it, and honestly it might have done THEM some good to have someone give back what they were getting.
I will probably be th eonly guy on this board to even mention such a thing, but there you go. ThinK, my young friend.....ten years from now, what do you think you will wish you'd done? Only you know the answer to that question.

It's been a while since this has been updated, I was just wondering how your kilting at school is going. I hope your classmates have finely accepted your clothing choices. Let us know.

Yes ... and in the meantime, wear all four belts on your kilt, and learn to do single punch KO's. : p

You might like to share the following news with your principal:
http://www.clan-macrae.org.uk/ Click on CLAN NEWS then find the atricle 12 Apr 2006 Nathan Recieves Apology. There is a link in that article to the earlier article.
Basically - this was a youing man who wanted to wear a kilt to his prom. The school originally banned it but then backed down in the face of a well organized petition.
Good luck,
Brian

Assistance
For the cost of a pizza and a six pack, plus airfare, I would be most happy to assist you in some attitude adjustment. At 6'2" and 300 pounds people generally listen and heed.

If you do need to take legal action sue the school district to make the official school uniform a kilt for all students and teachers. This would show 'em.
