Hands in pockets? Shame on ya!
Not that most civilians know this, but hands in pockets is a MAJOR no-no for Soldiers and Marines (I can't speak for the other Services; never served in 'em). So, in a typically military bureaucratic manner, military jackets like the M-65 Field Jacket and the A-2 leather aviator's jacket have no side-entry pockets you CAN place your hands in! BTW, this same sort of thing is why we have useless buttons on out jacket sleeves - they were originally put there to discourage soldiers from using the sleeve to wipe their nose!
Me, if I'm standing still, in line or whatever, I tend to grasp one wrist with the other hand - please don't be 'that guy' who has to swing his arms and clap his hands, or incessantly click a pen, or play with his hair (tho it's women who are especially bad at this!) - just for lack of something better to do with himself!
