Like you, I prefer to dispense with the sporran whenever I am wearing a jacket or waistcoat with pockets sufficiently capacious. I don't know the brand 'Filson' and, indeed, I own no fabric garments such as the one you have bought, but I DO have a superb leather waistcoat (with more pockets than I have ever been able to use - it even has pockets on pockets!) from UnionKilts in Wales, and that has become a true favourite. Unfortunately, now we are officially in Winter, it is too cold to wear just the waistcoat - this is tweed jacket or leather bomber weather! Yours is looking good, though.
