I HIGHLY recommend Green Linnet Records for a host of trad artist from all the Celtic Nations. Last time I was on the site you could download many samples from virtually all the albums...so FREE taste tests!!! Works for me...

Try a group called "The Great Big Sea". I think they're Canadian, but they do alot of Scottish Trad. You might also like the "Scottish Rogues". All I have for them is a telephone # {713}639.2843

GBS is from Canada. Newfoundland to be exact, and they do traditional Canadian Maritimes tunes fused with rock and folk - it's a little different than any traditional Scots that you may here, and mostly Irish influenced, but I agree they are definitely worth a listen. If you like very, very traditional regional tunes, there second-newest CD, The Hard and The Easy is outstanding. Great Maritimes tunes that go back centuries with the flair that only GBS can add. www.greatbigsea.ca
