    Feast your ears on this!

I have been listening to trad. music since I was a kid from the days of Silly Wizard, Ossian, Tannahill Weavers, etc..
Some great Scots trad./ fusion music on the current scene include:

    Shooglenifty
    Peatbog Faeries
    Croft No. 5
    Martyn Bennett
    Old Blind Dogs

    to name but a few.

I HIGHLY recommend Green Linnet Records for a host of trad artist from all the Celtic Nations. Last time I was on the site you could download many samples from virtually all the albums...so FREE taste tests!!! Works for me...

Try a group called "The Great Big Sea". I think they're Canadian, but they do alot of Scottish Trad. You might also like the "Scottish Rogues". All I have for them is a telephone # {713}639.2843

Tho Jimmy Carbomb was too classy to plug his own band - Barleyjuice is really great! http://www.barleyjuice.com/

I wasn't aware of Clann an Drumma's 'rebranding' as Albanach - but you can't listen to their 'Gathering of the Clans' and not get fired up!

And I'll always be a fan of Black '47 - even with their 'punky' influences.

    Here's to pipes!!!

    I'm confused -

If Albannach used to be Clann an Drumma, what're CAD doing performing in Singapore this month?

[QUOTE=mkmound;293507]I'm quite fond of Alasdair Fraser's fiddle music: his web site

For good fiddle, don't miss Bonnie Rideout. She's not only accomplished, friendly in person, and quite nice to look at, she's apparently studied a lot of auld music in Scotland and knows her stuff.

And thanks, guys, for the rest of the suggestions. I picked up a couple myself.

The band split a little over a year and a half or so. All but one of the members of Clan an Drumma left and formed their own band Albannach.
