Apparently casting jewelers pewter isn't quite as rigorous a procedure as it once was...my understanding is that there's a silicon based mold making material that makes it pretty much user friendly. I was at a hobby shop wherre they had some of the goodies to do this and the hobby-shop-guy was telling me that it was a no-brainer...we were chatting about the old lead casting toy soldier kits and he showed me the line of supplies that he had for this newer casting process. A little on-line research should provide more information. Look around and see if you have any "art center" type institutions anywhere near you...we have a couple scattered throughout Chicago and they give classes in all sorts of things and probably classes in casting.
