    Pair number one. Definitely. They have the dressier upper, but still show their Doc roots. You can't really go wrong with either (my nine hole black Docs are my main footwear when kilted) but I prefer the first pair.

    I like #2 as well. If you live close to Canton, Ohio, there is a Goodwill store with hundreds of pairs of Doc Martins, new for about $15.00 a pair.

    agreed that #1 is more manly.....but me being female .......anyway

    No.2 have a slightly softer edge to them and would look better with stockings. However, one could argue with oneself that both are necessary depending on the mood of the occasion.
