    Reminds me of some of the "Doo-Dah" parades I've seen...and, okay, been in. Lawn Chair Drill Teams etc.

    Very colourful - the crazy and 'camp' things you get up to over there!! One point though: I cannot help wondering why all the Elvises and the Irish guys are wearing frocks and tights - perhaps I should know better than to even think about asking!!!!

    I don't know the origins of the outfit but it is the traditional garb of the comics. I have seen pictures of the parade from the 1920's and the guys pretty much the same.
