New Registered Tartans

Rocky, those are two beautiful tartans, and I would be presumptious to offer anything more than a "great job" about them.

Personally, I like the American Heritage the best simply because I prefer the non-red mostly being so bashful and "subtle and understated" like my friend, Turpin. Ha. But then, there is that German blood boiling in me . . . .

I'm thinking that there may be one of those rascals in my future, expecially if I really do open the kilt shop.

Those are awesome, Rocky! I love the American Heritage one. You're right, the other "American" tartans are certainly overpowering.

I'm with you, the other 'American" tartans are too bright for my taste. the only othr "American" tartan that grabs me (besides 'California" of course) is the Edzell Navy tartan.

Would you sell someone 3-4 yards of it, come February? How big is the sett size on the Amrican Heritage Tartan?

They look great Rocky. Must feel good to have them in your hands as opposed to staring at them on a computer screen.
You showed me a couple of others when I was up there, I think. Are you still going to register them, or is this a big expensive process. I figure that Irish one you did is going to look fantastic once it is woven.

Thescot... I feel the same way (as do LOTS of men) about red tartans. The pics don't do the red in the 2 German tartans justice... it's a dark red with the "outlining red" as the "regular red" color.

Alan... I will GLADLY sell the material come the end of Feb. PLEASE buy the material! This was a pretty frickin' expensive whim I had (don't know if Kelly realizes HOW expensive) and we've got to recoup the money buy selling the he!! out of the tartans whether that's in KILT form or MATERIAL form. If you're interested, please let me know!

GW.... You have no IDEA what a jones is until you create your own tartan. HAHAHA. Imagine being able to see it on a screen, but then having to wait until the STA approves the design (a few days to a week), then sending it to the mill to weave for 6 to 8 weeks, then getting the material and having to make kilts for OTHER people who pre-ordered them, then having to find time to make one for yourself! THAT'S a jones.

The Irish tartan... I still like the design and we're going to register it (actually, we're registering ALL of them), but I won't have any more of it made for right now... we have 8 yards single width available (sitting beside my desk) and that's all we'll have at LEAST for a while (if ever).

I was wondering if you would/could post pictures of your tartans pletted differently. I found it really interesting when Steve (of Freedom Kilt) had posted a picture of the different ways of pletting the XMarks tartan. I only wish the image that Steve posted was bigger .

I think seeing a variety of ways to plett your lovely tartans will help them fly out the store

An USAKilt in American Heritage ... it's an idea that bears thinking about.
