I live on the north facing side of a mountain here in the Shenandoah Valley. More than once I have left my house in calm weather only to arrive at the local hardware store with the winds in full gale I have yet to buy a kilt pin. I will do so when I order my new SWK after tax season. I use a large safety pin, hidden of course, on my UK to keep the apron closed. It works quite well
As a side note, I keep a 5-gallon bucket of road salt in the back of my Nissan. It doesn't take much to give that little machine some traction. The bucket allows me to remove said salt easily and apply it to slick roads should the need arise.

As we might say in Wales:
"We all got a butt butt!"
(butt is "buttie" which means friend/mate)

Sorry, Captain, flashing an empty parking lot isn't funny - now, if you'd said it was a full lot, I'd'a laughed myself sick before cleaning the keyboard and monitor.

Captain, think of it this way, the kilt gods were testing you to see if you really were dedicated and worthy of wearing the "most noble of garments."

"All I saw was bits of tartan flying every where and you giving a Marilyn Monroe impression..."
Now there's a happy thought?

Captain, we made it to San Antonio just ahead of the Weather Wallop(so called by the TV guys here). Ft Sam Houston was shut down for two days along with much of San Antonio. We just laughed at the panic the littlle bit of cold caused here. Not so funny was the over 600 traffic accidents on Tues. With the winds that came with the rain/mist/ice I was glad to have my wool kilts instead of just the UK.
YMOS,
Tony
