Here are a few questions I hope someone here can answer....I have great faith in you guys by the way!
    1) Does anyone have a picture of the RCMP tartan made into a kilt...Just something so I can see what it looks like on anything other than a computer swatch.
    2) About how much would this cost me in US dollars per yard?
    3) I have no connection with the RCMP but I am in law enforcement and have the utmost respect for their agency. Would it be disrespectful to have a kilt made in this material?

    I trust your opinions guys
    John

may pictures of theRCMP tartan can be seen onthe Pipe Bands website, here:

    http://www.rcmppipesanddrums.com/pag...to_gallery.htm

    That's the gallery URL.

Figure that a meter is close enough to a yard that we won't worry about the difference. $16 CAN is about $13.50 in USA dollars. F&K charges $20 CAN in shipping and handling.

So if you were going to make a 6-yard kilt, you'd order 3 meters of the tartan. That would make a very nice kilt. I'm partial to 6 yard kilts. That would cost you 3 x $13.50 = $40.50 for the cloth, plus about $16.95 USA dollarsfor shipping and handling. Total is about $57

For an eight yard kilt just add another $13.50 to that for the extra yard of material. and pushit upto about $70. That is approximately what ONE YARD of top-quality tartanwillcost you, retail. This is a **GREAT DEAL** for anyone who can wear the RCMP tartan.

Now, as for wearing it, Iwouldn't, but then that's because I have no connection whatsoever...not even a vague connection to the RCMP. However, "Respect" is entirely in the attitude of the kilt-wearer, yes? I leave that call to you and your conscience.

Just my opinion of course, but there seems to be a mutual respect society within law enforcement, so I don't see anything wrong with you (or anyone else for that matter) wearing the RCMP tartan.

I'm seriously thinking about the Gray and Green for my first tartan box-pleat. If ony I hadn't just ordered two MacDonalds for my sons!
